The Eswatini Epilepsy Organization [EEO] is on a mission to improve and strengthen the management of epilepsy in the Kingdom of Eswatini, through the construction of a center focusing on people living with epilepsy and related disabilities (PLWED). This center will increase the financial resource base for sustaining epilepsy interventions, while economically empowering PLWED. This project will be in two phases.

The Sikhuphe Epilepsy Project was officially launched by the Patron, His Royal Highness Prince Bandzile. Also present was the Lubombo Regional Administrator Mr Themba Msibi and Chief Ndlondlo Tsabedze.

YOUR HELPING HAND - Now the Eswatini Epilepsy Organization humbly requests your assistance in completing this project which will change the state of people living with epilepsy in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The organization’s key focus is on establishing a clinic dedicated to the treatment of people with epilepsy at Sikhuphe near the King Mswati III International Airport in the Lubombo Region. The Sikhuphe Epilepsy Centre will comprise of the Administration Offices (Phase 1) and a state of the art Epilepsy Treatment Clinic (Phase 2). Within the perimeters of the Epilepsy Centre, there will be a Trading Facility that will comprise of an open gallery for displaying handcraft products made by people living with epilepsy all over the country. The SEO currently has a running program that seeks to establish support groups in all electoral districts in the Kingdom of Eswatini. These support groups are a forum to address matters affecting people with epilepsy and related disabilities, first in local communities then nationally. They are a psycho-social support system. Members of the support groups are trained on life skills, handicraft entrepreneurship and many other income generating activities as identified by the assessment to complement their economic status.

The establishment of the centre will not be an overnight. It requires collaborative efforts from all stakeholders involved, from corporate entities, government, to the community at large.
