EEO also engages in the Yellow Epilepsy Golf Tournament which is also aimed at mobilizing resources while raising awareness and advocating for epilepsy in the Kingdom of Eswatini. Golf is a sport that often attracts a certain type of audience such as business people, hence the organization saw it fit to approach the private sector and other key stakeholders in their space to address the epilepsy challenges and implore them to create safe spaces for people with epilepsy in the workplace and channel some funds to the fight against epilepsy. The corporates are encouraged to fund epilepsy projects, assist in the procurement of epilepsy equipment and drugs.
Over the years, the Yellow Epilepsy Golf Tournament has attracted quite a number to stakeholders in the country such as the Lidwalwa Insurance Company (once an anchor sponsor), First Finance, Eswatini Mobile, and the Eswatini Sugar Association.
The Swaziland Epilepsy Organisation under the patron HRH Prince Bandzile launched the Lidwala-Epilepsy yellow golf tournament at the Mananga Golf Club. Present stake holders were the Lidwala insurance company, first finance, Swazi Mobile and Swaziland Sugar Association. The Lidwala insurance company which is the anchor sponsor of the Lidwala Epilepsy yellow golf tournament came in numbers. During the Launch the National Director of the Swaziland Epilepsy Organisation Mr Mbusomuni Mahlalela introduced HRH Prince Bandzile the Patron of the SEO. HRH Prince Bandzile then made his remarks thanking all stakeholders and partners who have contributed towards the Lidwala epilepsy yellow golf tournament as well as encouraged other companies to also contribute towards the Lidwala epilepsy yellow golf tournament, to support epilepsy community projects, in an attempt to mitigate all impacts caused by epilepsy in communities. In his remarks he also assured all associated donars and stake holders that the Lidwala-Epilepsy yellow golf tournament will be a success. HRH Prince Bandzile also urged parents to allow their kids to come and watch during the Lidwala-Epilepsy yellow golf tournaments at the Mananga Golf Club.
The Lidwala-Epilepsy Yellow golf tournament is aimed to raise funds for supporting community projects for the epileptic, in order to mitigate all impacts and vulnerabilities affecting people living with epilepsy in the country. The Swaziland Epilepsy Organisation therefore urge all companies to help support this initiative since this will help support a number of livelihoods of those living with epilepsy in the Kingdom of ESwatini in the process, eliminating the incidence of poverty in the country.
